BioOne day, little Jimmy won a goldfish at the fairgrounds. He eagerly took his new friend home, and for about a week he was content with his aquatic companion--until his mother told him that he could only have one pet. So he flushed his fish without a second thought, claiming that he'd woken up that morning to find it belly-up. He might've felt guilty, but the feeling soon passed. After all, goldfish didn't have feelings. Any pet that was given to you in a plastic bag probably wasn't that great anyway, he reasoned. And then he got a puppy.
Now most small children don't realize that when not-quite-dead goldfish are dishonestly flushed, their corporeal bodies eventually expire, but their souls, of course, are immortal. So while the carcass of Jimmy's goldfish rotted deep in the bowels of the sewage treatment plant, the goldfish's anguished soul continued on its downward journey to Hell.
It's still there to this very day, swimming in Hell's fishbowl of firey brimstone and plotting revenge upon humankind. Little by little, it's amassing an army of the damned--a legion of goldfish souls, all wrongfully flushed by careless, callous children.
